RECOGNITION FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE
(The Grace Inspirational Awards)
Once a year Grace Community Church takes time out to recognize and honour those persons in the
church who have distinguished themselves over the years in exemplary service. This is called the "Grace
Inspirational Awards".
The criteria for these awards can be summarized as follows: One who shows an evident love for Christ
and others, one who exemplifies the Fruit of the Spirit in his/her life, and has proven faithfulness in Christian
service.
One outstanding feature of the Awards is that they are voted on by members of the congregation and not
arbitrarily dispensed by the Leadership of the Church. The only exception to this is the coveted Senior Pastor's
Award. This is a special Award, given by the Senior Pastor to a very deserving member of the church whose
life of service and dedication stands out as worthy of special recognition, above and beyond the ordinary range
of the criteria for the Inspirational Awards. This year's Awards were handed out to the following persons.

The Coveted Senior Pastors Award
Carolyn Strachan (nee Culmer) is a widow and the mother of five children. She has been a member of Grace Community Church since May 1987. She received Christ as her personal Saviour during that year at the Reach out to Live Crusade.
Many years ago Carolyn came down with a distressing health problem, which could have caused the ordinary person to become bitter and withdraw from active life in church and the community. Not so with Carolyn! She continued to devote herself to serving wherever possible. She could be seen singing happily in the Choir.Carolyn is not one to complain, or to let persons upset her.
